Major League Soccer (MLS) has officially revealed its new headquarters in Manhattan, a sprawling 126,000-square-foot office located on two floors at 2 Penn Plaza. The space nearly doubles the league’s previous footprint at 420 Fifth Avenue.
The league relocated last month, ending a 16-year tenure at its former base. Around 500 staff members now work at the new location under a four-day-a-week in-office schedule, while an additional 25 employees operate from MLS Productions’ Stamford studio.
Camilo Durana, MLS Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer, described the move as a “game changer,” linking it to what the league calls “MLS 3.0.”
“We were running out of space,” Durana said. “We struggled to add full-time staff while maintaining a comfortable environment. Now, we have room to grow.”
Designed by TPG Architecture, the custom-built workspace features more than 80 meeting rooms, four wellness areas for meditation or nursing, two outdoor terraces, multiple podcast studios, a cafeteria, and a dedicated matchday operations hub.
LED ribbons throughout the building can be programmed to showcase partner branding or live scores. Mesh walls evoke soccer netting, while curved archways mimic the shape of a goal. Club-specific banners line the corridors, ensuring visitors immediately recognize the league’s identity.
Durana added: “As a league, we’re going through significant change and evolution. To have a workspace like this as we present ourselves to the world—thinking about partners, sponsors, and media walking in here versus where we were before—paints us in a rightful light in terms of where we are on our journey.”
A bigger office signals a bigger calendar and bigger ambitions for the league.
